The head of state has made personnel decisions and given instructions to the new leaders: a governor of Gomel Region, the head of the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade and the Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology were appointed today.
Ivan Krupko, now ex-Minister of Agriculture, will head the Gomel Region. His deputy in the department of agriculture was also promoted: Alexei Bogdanov will head the Ministry for Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade. The President instructed him to use the anti-monopoly levers to influence pricing and keep prices within the range acceptable for the population.
The new head of the State Committee for Science and Technology, Sergei Shlychkov, has been tasked by the President to improve the efficiency of the department. And the new governor will have to make serious efforts to develop the human resources potential of the region, to put things in order, including in the agriculture.
On December 22, Alexander Lukashenko is going to introduce the new governor and hold a meeting with the active core of the Gomel Region. Last week the head of the state also appointed new governors of Mogilev and Vitebsk regions and introduced them personally during the meeting with the active core. In both cases they discussed the urgent problems of the region and tasks for the future; they also talked about foreign policy and the forthcoming referendum.
