President and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia discuss international situation

President Alexander Lukashenko and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed the Belarusian-Russian relations, integration issues and the international situation.

Alexander Lukashenko and Sergei Lavrov discussed in detail the issue of integration, in particular, the results of the first year of the Eurasian Economic Union. During the year we achieved serious results in the development of the association. The President of Belarus and the Russian Foreign Minister also discussed the possibility of expanding cooperation between the EAEU and the EU. In addition, the meeting addressed the issue of modernizing the CIS, and the transformation of the Commonwealth in a stronger and more effective organization.

The President of Belarus and the Russian Foreign Minister also discussed in details the schedule of upcoming contacts at the highest level. So, Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin will meet in May in Astana, in June on a large-scale forum of Russia and Belarus in Minsk.
