President of Belarus meets with Head of European Olympic Committees

Today the President of Belarus met with Head of the European Olympic Committees Janez Kocijancic and discussed the nuances of preparation to the Second European Games. Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the Head of the EOC on his appointment to this post. Janez Kocijancic was elected the Head of the organization on November 25, at the 46th General Assembly of European Olympic Committees.

The Second European Games will be held in our country from June 21 to June 30, 2019. Within the framework of the tournament, 4,000 athletes, as well as more than 2 thousand members and official representatives of delegations, are expected to arrive in Belarus,. More than a thousand journalists will cover the event. 198 sets of medals in 15 sports will be awarded in Minsk. 10 kinds of sports will be qualifying for the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
