Alexander Lukashenko makes working trip to Brest region

It is necessary to develop the regional economy and solve social issues on this basis, reducing the gap in the quality of people's lives to a minimum. The need to tackle such a task was announced today by our President at a meeting with the activists of the Baranovichi district. Conversation in this format is already becoming traditional. The focus of attention is on the development of areas, small and medium cities. This is due to the need to ensure an even distribution of productive forces in the country. The emphasis is placed on 11 cities of Belarus including Baranovichi, where accelerated socio-economic development should be ensured in the next 2 years. 

Alexander Lukashenko made it clear that he was aware of all the discussions that preceded his arrival, especially with regard to restoring order in the city.

The trip to Baranovichi is a continuation of work on the development of regions, which began in the Orsha district. During the meeting, a whole spectrum of issues of the development of the city and region was raised. By September 1, 2020 the average salary in the Baranovichi district should be a thousand rubles. 

The Head of State oriented the vertical of power to work effectively in the pre-election years. Special attention should be paid to price control and wages.

Many Baranovichi residents came to the place of the meeting with the Head of State. Everyone wanted to ask a question to Alexander Lukashenko and find out his impressions of the city. Some people tried to capture the historical moment on their smartphones and hear firsthand whether pensions would rise. The impromptu conversation lasted more than 20 minutes. The Belarusian leader announced his intention to revive the people's control over wages. 

The President intends to once again visit Baranovichi at the beginning of the second half of the year to revise the activities of the enterprises. After the meeting, Alexander Lukashenko talked to local residents. 

The Brest region and the Baranovichi district focus now on the creation of large holdings and market diversification. The President warns that betting on one product or one market, even if it is allied, is unacceptably dangerous. It is important to build new markets and insure yourself against unfair competition.

Government construction trusts serve state orders and produce cheap square meters which often bring losses. The leader’s order is to bring profitability for private traders to 5%. Government construction trusts will receive better plots.

The President supported the idea of satellite villages in the region. 200 000 inhabitants is the optimal size that is comfortable for citizens.

In addition to housing a popular request concerns roads. The mayor recognized that from 440 kilometers of road stock only about 40 kilometers will be fully renewed within the next 5 years.

The head of the state control committee has reported on blatant facts of black mediation. The President warns that everyone who has been caught corrupted will respond according to the law.
