This was stated by President Alexander Lukashenko at the ceremony of honoring graduates of higher military educational institutions and higher officers. The Head of State notes that Belarusians like any other nation appreciate peace, security and independence. These most important achievements of our people need reliable protection. Therefore, Belarus pursues a peaceful policy. This is especially true today, when there are armed conflicts on the planet, and the international security system is undergoing the most serious verification in decades.
For the excellent progress in their studies, the President presented gratitude to graduates of military universities. Among the excellent students are former students of the faculty of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus and the National Security Institute. Regular military ranks of Major-General were given to Andrei Fedin, Alexander Panferov and Alexander Naumenko. Ivan Kubrakov and Alexander Astrejko became Generals. Head of the Grodno regional customs house Andrei Kovalchuk received the personal title of state adviser to the customs service of the third rank.
The solemn event took place after the Independence Day as a sign of special respect to the officers of the country. The President notes that the military parade on July 3 was the best one in the history of independent Belarus.
