President of Belarus meets with Head of Vietnam National Assembly

Belarusian-Vietnamese cooperation was discussed today at the Palace of Independence. The countries are connected by strong friendship since the Soviet years. Thi Nguyen is visiting Belarus for the 2nd time. Inter-parliamentary relations, trade, economy, defense and security were discussed at the meeting with Alexander Lukashenko. Vietnam is a reliable partner for Belarus. Its authority in the regional and global terms is constantly growing. Our states have similar views on pressing issues of the world politics. The economy has also made a confident step forward. Vietnam was the first to sign a free trade agreement with the EAEU. Belarus and Vietnam have traded for $ 153 million during 9 months of this year. The states are aiming at half a billion. Such trade meets the potential of the countries, which has been repeatedly emphasized at the highest level. The President of the National Assembly conveyed to Alexander Lukashenko a greeting from the President of Vietnam and an invitation to visit this country again. Ms. Nguyen’s visit to Belarus will last for 3 days. The dialogue on bilateral partnerships will continue today in the parliament. It is planned that the distinguished guest will meet with the speakers of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic, and will hold talks with the Prime Minister. The program also includes visits to Belarusian enterprises.
