President of Belarus has telephone conversation with President of Russia today

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko had a telephone conversation with President of Russia Vladimir Putin today. This was reported by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The head of the Belarusian state congratulated his Russian counterpart on his birthday, after which the leaders of the countries discussed issues of bilateral interaction and the international agenda. In particular, the Presidents substantively discussed the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and Kyrgyzstan. With regard to the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, as it was noted, Belarus and Russia advocate its soonest peaceful resolution. After all, people continue to die in the region.

Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin paid much attention to the problem of the spread of coronavirus infection, expressing concern about the increase in the incidence. The Presidents briefly touched upon the situation inside Belarus and Russia against the background of the global crisis, and also discussed some other aspects of the international situation. The leaders again positively noted the role of interregional contacts and the interaction of enterprises. The cooperation between universities, scientific institutions, academic schools were marked as promising, the press service of the President of Belarus added.
