Belarus makes most of SCO Summit in Bishkek to strengthen peace and stability, as well as promote its own interests

Belarus has observer status in the SCO, but our initiatives are introduced into the current and strategic agenda.

The current summit is no exception. The President of Belarus has proposed a rich set of concrete measures for the level of the United Nations, the SCO, the OSCE and the bilateral format.

A frank dialogue without preconditions is exactly the formula that Belarus promotes in diplomacy. An informal meeting of the UN, OSCE, SCO, CIS and NATO secretaries general is an objectively necessary step. This could be the first step to trust.

During the summit, Alexander Lukashenko held several major bilateral meetings. It was a real negotiating marathon - with the leaders of China, Russia, India, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan.

Considering the subject matter - security, - the negotiations in the narrow composition of the participating countries were traditionally held without a press. The meeting in an expanded format, including observers from Belarus, Afghanistan, Iran and Mongolia, was opened by the leader of Kyrgyzstan.

Our country practically develops cooperation with the Organization in the military sphere, as well as through the executive committee of the regional antiterrorist structure. Modern challenges and threats require constant revision of actions. Coordinated work of all participants and partners is needed.

It does not become calmer in the world, there are a lot of problems - from illegal migration to drug trafficking. Being between East and West, our country is like between two fires. The strategy of ensuring stability on external circuits needs constant monitoring and operational decisions. In this case, only full-format cooperation is effective. Together it’s time to look for fundamentally new solutions. Alexander Lukashenko openly speaks of the pain points of the modern world. Our President fundamentally speaks about how important the global dialogue on security is, which Belarus is promoting step by step.

Belarus is an active supporter of restarting the Helsinki process, the goal of which is to adapt the existing world order to new geopolitical realities and extraordinary challenges. The idea is shared by many politicians, public figures, diplomats. There are many supporters of building bridges in the world in order to defuse tensions.

A huge threat to the participants of the organization is the activity of radical groups. Terrorists primarily regard SCO countries as a recruiting base for their ranks and the spread of ideology. Therefore, the organization has created a secure communication system between the competent authorities of the countries.

Criminal activity on the Internet directly affects our security as well. Belarus is ready to share its experience in the fight against cybercrime.

Alexander Lukashenko appealed to the major world powers, including those represented in the SCO, so that they did not forget about the small and medium-sized countries, involved them in trade and economic interaction more actively.

The thesis of the Belarusian leader is supported by the Russian colleague. For his part, Vladimir Putin promised all possible assistance to his colleagues in the context of the integration processes and regional economic projects ongoing in Eurasia.

The Belarusian leader had a real negotiation marathon during the summit today. The President of Belarus discussed the current issues with the Prime Minister of India. The level of interaction is very intense, especially in recent years, and the exchange of visits has contributed to this.

There was also a meeting with the president of Afghanistan. In a difficult period, Belarus is ready to lend a hand and render every assistance in rebuilding the country.

In Belarus, we are waiting for many high-ranking guests this week on the occasion of the II European Games. Vladimir Putin received a personal invitation from the Belarusian leader today. The countries are now engaged in an active dialogue on current issues of interaction. Today, leaders reaffirmed earlier agreements on a meeting to discuss further integration issues.

Alexander Lukashenko discussed with Chinese President Xi Jinping the July International Forum on the basis of the Great Stone Industrial Park. Following the meeting, the leaders, as good friends, exchanged symbolic gifts.

The relations of Belarus and Pakistan have a strong foundation of the Soviet integration chains. They acquired new quality and dynamics after exchanging visits at the highest and high levels in recent history. Some slowdown is associated with a difficult political period for official Islamabad. However, as the Prime Minister assured, Pakistan is ready for a large-scale reset of relations.

During the meeting of Alexander Lukashenko with the President of Uzbekistan it was noted that the parties are implementing more than a dozen projects. The heads of state agreed to accelerate the relevant work. These and other issues will be in the spotlight during the upcoming visit of the Uzbek leader to Belarus.

The Belarusian leader also discussed topical issues of cooperation with the President of Tajikistan.
