At the invitation of Vladimir Putin the President of Belarus plans to attend the opening ceremony and the opening match of the World Cup.
This information was confirmed by press-secretary of the head of the Belarusian state Natalia Eismont. The World Cup will start at the Moscow stadium Luzhniki. On the occasion of the World Cup, a number of foreign leaders will arrive in the Russian capital to attend the opening ceremony. International competitions will be held in 11 cities of Russia.
