President of Belarus makes working trip to Vitebsk

 At this moment a  meeting on the development of the agro-industrial complex of the region is held there.  They discuss proposals for a comprehensive solution to problems in the region. The government has developed a new draft decree, which provides for a radical restructuring of the entire system.  It is proposed to create a super holding.

In 2016 a large-scale reorganization, during which 4 integrated structures were created in Vitebsk, Glubokoye, Orsha and Polotsk, was meant to radically improve the economy of enterprises, and ultimately increase the welfare of the region.  The main principle of work is to organize the entire production cycle: from the field to the counter.  This experiment helped, but only to a number of enterprises, and the situation in the region has not fundamentally changed. While addressing the participants, the President called into question the necessity of creating a super holding and is waiting for reasonable arguments - for and against.  The question is serious and requires a big investment. 

The government and district leaders, directors of agricultural organizations will also express their proposals on the development of the agro-industrial complex of the region. The new document will help solve systemic problems in the agriculture of the Vitebsk Region. Over the past 5 years, the agricultural output in the region has decreased.  There are tangible losses in animal husbandry, in milk production.  The low workload of enterprises has led to incomplete employment of specialists and downtime of production lines. The exports fell almost 2 times.
