The meetings once again emphasized that the countries have a brotherly level of relations that should not be called into question. Money cannot measure the closest ties between the two countries.
А. Lukashenko held talks with M. Mishustin
The issues that are painful for Minsk and Moscow include not only internal market barriers, which slow down the bilateral trade. Agreed solutions are also necessary for the creation of common markets for hydrocarbons, adoption of fair oil prices and tariffs for gas transportation and transit. After all, the competitiveness of our economy is at stake. The President will talk to his Russian counterpart personally on many pressing issues. The President also pointed to unfriendly steps of NATO. Belarus is determined to defend its sovereignty and independence, no matter how hot the situation gets.
Negotiations between the government delegations of Belarus and Russia
This is not the first meeting for the heads of governments of Belarus and Russia (even taking into account the fact that our Cabinet of Ministers was renewed in summer). But such an impressive composition of participants is present for the first time. For Minsk, this visit is now a clear signal that the relationship has certainly passed the test of strength.
Р. Golovchenko: your visit is a proof of brotherly relations between the countries
Roman Golovchenko, Prime Minister of Belarus: "Your visit is the most convincing proof of genuine fraternal relations between our countries at this difficult time, when Belarus has undergone massive pressure from outside forces that have tried and are still trying to overturn the state, to play the already familiar scenario of the color revolution, familiar to us from our neighbors, as well as to drive a wedge between the two closest allies. Having failed in the attempt of a political blitzkrieg, certain forces are working on attempts to shake up the country's economy. But we are used to confronting external challenges, especially feeling the support of our ally the Russian Federation, which is also our main trading partner".
Minsk and Moscow to discuss terms of energy supplies for the next year
The terms of supply (as well as prices) for Russian gas and oil for Belarus will be discussed soon, the minister announces. Will gas become cheaper? For now it is the subject of negotiations. It is not at the level of governments, but that of Russian suppliers and buyers from our, Belarusian side. Perhaps, there is no more clarity on oil. The only difference is that the negotiation process has already started.
Negotiations on Russian COVID-19 vaccine is at the finish line. The pandemic brings together the efforts of Minsk and Moscow to counteract infection both on the economic front and to protect the health of its citizens. Russia was the first country in the world to register a vaccine against coronavirus. And Russian doctors and teachers will be the first to receive the vaccine. The Russian Ministry of Health confirmed to journalists that Belarusians will be among the first to receive it. In three weeks at most, the vaccine will be delivered to medical institutions of our country. The vaccination will be free of charge.
We are ready to move together the cooperation of industrialists, the digital economy, and humanitarian projects. The agreements will be signed at the next Union Council of Ministers. They say the agreement is more expensive than money. They must fulfill it without any conditions. Only this is a guarantee of long-term and effective union partnership. And such relations are equally beneficial to Minsk and Moscow today.
