President Alexander Lukashenko urges Belarusian mass media to explore new forms of work

President Alexander Lukashenko met with the leaders and personnel of the largest state-owned media. The President noted that modern journalism today lacks deep analysis, authority and credible facts, as well as proper education and training of the future journalists.

The dialogue in Belteleradiocompany was frank and open. A whole range of issues was touched upon, including a new law on the media, the HD broadcasting of television channels, the prompt response of state agencies to criticism, and the training of journalists. Speaking about the influence of the media, Alexander Lukashenko noted that the media are more powerful than any weapon, and the new law on the media should protect viewers and readers from fake news.

Before the conversation at the Open Studio, the President got acquainted with the modernized process of TV-production. At the entrance to Belteleradiocompany the first Belarusian mobile television studio was deployed, which operates at the largest events. It transmits the signal in HD format. In late March, 6 TV channels of the media holding simultaneously switched to broadcasting in HD.
