Openness, trust, friendship and mutual assistance. In modern world politics, such relations are rare. But this is exactly how the interaction of Minsk and Baku can be characterized. This year, Belarus and Azerbaijan celebrate 25 years of diplomatic relations. Next week, President Ilkham Aliyev is expected to visit our country. Following the summit talks in Minsk, they plan to sign a dozen documents. According to ambassador of Azerbaijan Latif Gandilov, the personal relations of the leaders are a good example of interstate relations.

Relations between Belarus and Azerbaijan have always been warm: both in the Soviet period and now in sovereign history.

The presidents of both countries regularly exchange visits. Since 2006, Alexander Lukashenko has visited Azerbaijan five times, Ilkham Aliyev has been a guest of Minsk four times.

Both Belarus and Azerbaijan, which has a common border with the CSTO, are interested in maintaining stability in the region.

The head of state meets with heads of diplomatic missions on a regular basis, not only on the occasion of the start or end of missions in our country. This is an opportunity to keep abreast of our relations and discuss all issues openly and confidentially.

Following the summit, a dozen documents will be signed, the diplomat announced.

In general, the result of bilateral trade and economic relations in 2017 is almost 161 million. The optimism is confirmed by the preliminary results - for the first 9 months of this year, the trade turnover increased 3 times and exceeded $ 331 million.

More than 70 Azerbaijani companies are dealers and distributors of Belarusian enterprises. The sale of Belarusian foodstuffs has been established in Azerbaijan, two years ago the first Belarusian shop appeared there. Now there are four supermarkets in Baku. The network is already developing in the regions.
