Today is a historic day for the Belarusian machine-building industry. Today, the BelGee plant was officially opened in the Borisov district. President Alexander Lukashenko took part in the solemn ceremony. The enterprise was built within 2.5 years by the forces of Belarusian and Chinese specialists. For the auto giant Geely this is the first experience of establishing a full-cycle plant abroad. Its capacities allow producing 60 thousand cars a year. And the first Geely Atlas car was released from the conveyor today.
In the future, the amount can be doubled. Alexander Lukashenko got acquainted with modern technological processes of welding, assembling and painting cars including new Atlas crossover model. By the end of the year, 1300 cars will be assembled. Cars will be sold not only in Belarus, but also in the CIS market. Almost 800 people are already employed at the new plant. All specialists had additional training. The production was organized by the instruction of the Head of State.
Alexander Lukashenko talked to the labor collective. The President noted that the production of this plant is truly popular. The contract for the construction of the plant was signed with the Chinese corporation in 2014.
