The main tasks in the sphere of education were voiced during the Republican Pedagogical Council and frequent meetings of the President with young people and teachers. Today's meeting, in fact, identified still unsolved problems in the Belarusian education. This includes updating curricula in schools and universities, raising the prestige of the teaching profession, and new textbooks, and, of course, digital transformation of educational processes. The practice of such meetings at the highest level, where a specific area is dealt with in detail, has proven itself to be effective.
At the beginning of the year, Alexander Lukashenko made it clear that the approach to education would be serious. Specific tasks were set: high-quality training of specialists, no random people in the magistracy, the revision of university and school programs. Education must be practice-oriented and comply with the requirements dictated by life itself. In short, it is necessary to prepare personnel for the real needs of the economy. Moreover, not only our own economy. Today, many countries are asking us to train competitive and in-demand specialists. Today, 25,000 foreign students fr om more than 100 countries are studying in Belarus. Export of education exceeded $ 35 million last year, and this area should be developed further.
It is important to keep specialists and make Belarusian education recognizable in the world. Among the requirements of the President is to improve the system of selection to universities.
The meeting also discussed the creation of a children's technology park. Now the country has embarked on a digitalization process, but one should not lim it itself to just the IT sphere. According to the Head of State, this technopark should be created for children with phenomenal knowledge in mathematics, physics, and human sciences.
