The proposal of the department was reported to the President, Minister Vladimir Karanik and assistant to the President Alexander Kosinets today. The Ministry of Health connects the initiative with expanding medical services in the country. The number of new departments of cosmetology, surgical and other profiles has expanded in recent years. State institutions and medical centers provide such services under the existing licenses. There are cases of harming the health of patients. A number of procedures today do not require a medical education from the specialist who provides them. It concerns massage using medical equipment, laser hair removal, tanning salons. The department proposes to return to the discussion of compulsory licensing of such procedures. This will require spa and medical centers to get the appropriate medical qualifications of specialists. The President reminds the state policy focuses on business liberalization. Licenses have been canceled so as not to create unnecessary barriers to work in some fields.

Medical licensing for a range of procedures is voluntary today. And many spas operate according to a simplified scheme, not requiring medical certificates from their employees and registration of the equipment. The issue is discussed by the Head of the State today.

The current epidemiological situation was also discussed at the meeting.
