The development of relations, including economic ones, was discussed at the meetings of Alexander Lukashenko with the Governor of the Irkutsk Region and with the Egyptian parliamentary delegation.
First, the Head of State met with the head of the Egyptian Parliament. Despite the fact that this is the first visit in the history of inter-parliamentary contacts, Alexander Lukashenko and Ali Abdel Aal Sayyed have already held bilateral talks during the visit of the Belarusian leader to Egypt. By the way, the senator is one of the initiators of the creation of Friendship Groups in the parliaments of the two countries. Today, the parties discussed topical issues of interaction, based on the agreements reached by the two presidents.
At the talks in Cairo, the leaders agreed that cooperation must be made more balanced and productive. The presidents signed a dozen documents. Among them is cooperation in the field of legal assistance, agriculture and science.
In January-September, the figure for mutual trade approached $ 80 million, but experts say that by the end of the year it will exceed a hundred. Belarusian MAZ and MTZ tractors and trucks are assembled in Cairo. Amkodor, Gomselmash are also present on the market. These brands, as well as Belkommunmash and Atlant are planning to open their productions in Egypt.
The visit of the delegation will last five days, with an emphasis on expanding trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation. The parliaments of the two countries signed a cooperation agreement.
Irkutsk Region Governor Sergei Levchenko is now on a five-day visit to Belarus. A representative delegation arrived in Minsk together with the governor. The main focus is on strengthening economic cooperation. So far, the trade with this Russian region reaches almost $ 80 million. Nevertheless, growth is observed mainly due to the products of the Belarusian engineering industry.
The region actively cooperates with Mogilevliftmash. There is a dealer network of MTZ and MAZ there.
The program of the visit of the Irkutsk delegation to Belarus is quite extensive. The governor will visit BelAZ.
Sergey Levchenko will also visit Brest. The 3rd meeting of the working group on interregional cooperation will be held there. New opportunities for cooperation of small and medium businesses will be discussed.
