New building of Supreme Court opened in Minsk. Ceremony attended by Head of State

5 апреля 2019
The new building of the Supreme Court was opened in Minsk today. The Head of State took part in the ceremony. The Palace of Justice was built in 2.5 years, the building is located opposite the Palace of Independence. It turned out to be both modern and functional. The opening ceremony was combined with a conversation on how to improve the activities of the courts of general practice. The President notes the important requirements for the work of the judiciary: legality, fairness and practice orientation. And the main thing is that there must be a fair attitude towards people in the work of the courts.

The Head of State familiarized himself with the possibilities of the new Supreme Court building. He visited the halls and offices where the judges will work. Almost four hundred people were invited to the meeting; this is the leadership of the courts of all levels. The priority question is how effective the current judicial system is.

Many issues in the judicial system have, of course, been resolved. There is no staff turnover, the prestige of a judge's profession has increased. But the new time dictates its own rules. The President asks to rethink the vision of the profession and be more attentive to people.

The work of the Institute of Judicial Retraining will be radically restructured in the country. The staff will attract experienced practitioners and even psychologists. In general, the High Court is obliged to act strategically and work in advance. The President orients the Supreme Court to analytical work. The legal work of the plenum and the presidium should be practice-oriented for all law enforcement agencies. Among the initiatives is full digitalization. By September, 1, 2020, the supreme and regional courts will have refused paper protocols. In short, the new time dictates new approaches to work, and in such interiors there is certainly no need to complain about the lack of inspiration.
