About a year ago, Belarus received the honorable right to host the Second European Games in 2019. Belarus had already organized such high level competitions and international events as the 2014 IIHF World Championship. The President also stressed the importance of preparations for the Games, since the image of the country will depend on it.

The 2019 European Games will bring together over 4,000 athletes from 50 countries. Minsk will host competitions in 15 sports. 10 of them will become Olympic qualification competitions. In addition to the impeccably organization of the event, the President also urged sports officials to show result and athletes to win medals.
