What is the connection between politics and history? For the first time in the years of independence, these concepts are put side by side and discussed at the highest level. A meeting on the implementation of historical policy was held today at the Palace of Independence. The year 2022 is the Year of Historical
History policy is a factor of national security
The Victory Monument is a place of memory and strength for several generations of Belarusians. What seems inviolable and sacred these days is undergoing a serious test of its strength. After all, they try to pull the historical memory from under our feet. The same protesters in Kazakhstan call to recognize the Soviet Union as an occupant, which unleashed the World War II. This is not a theater of the absurd, this is a harsh reality.
There are "experts" on the Internet who seriously analyze "how life would have changed for the better if the Nazis had won the war". They equate the undoubtedly controversial personality of Stalin with Hitler. The card "USSR - the prison of nations" is played by Western intelligence services in the post-Soviet space with considerable zeal. And now Kazakhstan is also in flames.
Kazakhstan is our partner and friend. To stay aside means to betray the very idea of Eurasia. That's why the President's meeting touches upon the issues of geopolitical security.
History today is an enormous information battleground. The media and various NGOs literally divide the world in a new way. We have seen this in Ukraine, we have seen it in the Baltics States: countries that have literally replaced their identities with imported gum.
"Peaceful protests," "punishers of Kazakhstan," "police with the people" are psychological tags familiar to us since 2020, only the name of the country has changed, the narratives and meanings are imported, they were made in the USA.
Armen Gasparyan, political analyst (Russia):
“All these telegram channels and hotline numbers in Kazakhstan are registered with the Kiev mobile operator. The West annually invested millions, tens of millions, for democracy development. Is it an accidental coincidence?”
The events in Kazakhstan are an attempt to unleash a civil war. The irony of it is that "peaceful" protesters ransacked the MIR (“peace”) broadcasting company's office, destroyed several buildings, decapitated security forces. President Tokayev's request to CSTO to introduce real peacekeepers is understandable.
