President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko demanded to transfer the maximum number of administrative procedures into electronic format. The President made a statement to that effect at the national seminar "Actualization of the forms and methods of working with the population at the local level".

The President noted that Belarus has been talking about simplification of administrative procedures and de-bureaucratization of the state apparatus for a long time. "What is the reason for introducing "one window" principle?  It is meant not only for convenience and speed of work, although this is also important. It is not a secret that the system has procedures with corruption risks. We have decided to minimize the contact between an official and a citizen, where the customers sometimes like to speed up the process for a fee," said the Belarusian leader.

According to him, there are about 2 thousand administrative procedures in the country but not all of them are performed following the principle of "one window". Executive committees, for example, solve only 10% of issues in this way. A number of procedures are carried out according to the principle of "one window" by some government agencies (registration of transport, obtaining a passport, etc.).

"People try to convince me that all procedures are complicated and sometimes inexpedient to transfer to a one-step format because of their multi-stage nature. Then let's reconsider the list of procedures: are all of them necessary or are there some obsolete and irrelevant ones, and transfer them into electronic format," the President demanded.
