Alexander Lukashenko: Our main value is our people

2 июля 2017

Belarus is celebrating Independence Day. On the eve of the official start of the main state holiday in Minsk, a ceremonial meeting was held in the Palace of the Republic, timed to 3 July.

Among the guests were not only officials, but also veterans, because without these people this day would not be possible today, as well as the youth on whom our tomorrow depends. Despite such a serious reason, the evening turned out to be informal and very emotional. Addressing the audience, Alexander Lukashenko noted that the idea of a national state was always there - through all generations.

The road to independence was not an easy one - the country was born in the Principality of Polotsk and in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. These lands and people had to go through wars and revolutions, and much later - survive the collapse of the Soviet Union. But each historical milestone tempered the character and gave strength to implement the idea of a national state.

Speaking from the stage of the Palace of the Republic, Alexander Lukashenko spoke about the unity of the Belarusian people. After all, only by putting your efforts together you can overcome any difficulties.

In the hall of the Palace of the Republic, there were many young people. The President has only one request from them - to appreciate their homeland, develop their talents in Belarus, and never to forget about the exploits of the past. After all, the main asset of an independent country is peace, tranquility, and order.
