Nine months ago, Belarus learned the name of the new Interior Minister, Yuri Karayev. Nine months have passed. And the results of the analysis and work of the MIA are already visible. The meeting notes that there's less crime in Belarus. This applies, for example, to serious crimes and recidivism.

Yuri Karaev made an important statement in his exclusive interview to our TV channel. 1,800 people convicted under a drug article may be subject to amnesty. A pardon mechanism for those who stumbled for the first time is being worked out.

The MIA is also preparing a number of legislative innovations. The package of amendments will concern the Administrative Code. The main task is to get away from paperwork, to simplify the process of bringing to justice, to put it simply, to get away from bureaucracy.

For example, effective measures are being developed to deal with regular road traffic offenders. According to the law enforcement agency, there are about 8,000 of them in the country.
