President of Belarus makes new appointments in diplomatic corps, education, and Belteleradiocompany

By Ilona Krasutskaya: Today, the President of Belarus has made a series of new appointments in the diplomatic corps, education, and Belteleradiocompany. All in all, 16 people received new posts. The President sets a common task for all managers – the maximum of efforts and the best possible impact.

Former spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Dmitry Mironchik is now the Ambassador of Belarus to Sweden. His colleague Alexander Lukashevich is the Ambassador of Belarus to Bulgaria, Greece, and Cyprus. Vyacheslav Kachanov will head Belarus’ diplomatic mission in Estonia.

Last year, Belarus signed 140 international agreements maintaining its close cooperation with its neighbors and strengthening relations with the European Union and the United States. Belarus is looking for allies not only nearby, but also in distant countries. The country is building a large trading arc, hence the relevant appointments of the President.

Valery Kolesnik, who heads the diplomatic mission in some ASEAN states – in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines – has been appointed the concurrent representative of Belarus with this organization. Vladimir Astapenko, the Ambassador of Belarus in Argentina and Uruguay, will begin his mission in Chile as well.

New leaders were appointed in the Kobrin and Lyakhovichi District Executive Committees. They are now headed by Mikhail Grishkevich and Alexander Kaminsky respectively.

In higher education, Gennady Palchik left the post of head of the Highest Attestation Commission. He took the post of the Rector of the Academy of Management under the President of Belarus. Vadim Bogush is now the Rector of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, and Alexander Dragan is the Rector of the Brest State Technical University.

Personnel changes were also made in the structure of the country's main media holding. Sergei Gusachenko was appointed Deputy Chairman of Belteleradiocompany.

Also today, the President gave his consent to the appointment of Pavel Legkoy as First Deputy Minister of Information of Belarus. Alexei Krasinsky is now the Director of the Securities Department of the Ministry of Finance. Igor Gusev received the post of the Director of the Department for Supervision of the State Committee for Standardization. Alexander Tchaikovsky was appointed Director General of the Scientific Biological Resources Centre of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Georgy Khvalko if the head of the Brest Regional Executive Committee.

Natalia Kochanova, the Head of the Belarus President Administration: "The administration exercises strict control over the implementation of all the instructions by local and national authorities. Among the instructions are issues related to the people, development of regions, salaries, pricing policy, and employment. These are all the issues that managers need to address, about 81% of all tasks on the control have been implemented, but there are a number of instructions to be addressed yet. There are certain instructions for which there will be a tougher approach."
