By Natalia Breus: Today, the traditional the New Year party for students who have excelled in education, creative work brought together children from all over Belarus. These are excellent students, winners of Olympiads, and children from big families, as well as those who for various reasons have no parents.
The party has become the most long-awaited event of the year and, at the same time, the highlight of the Our Children charity event. The President personally congratulated the small Belarusians and wished them a happy New Year.
Addressing the young guest, Alexander Lukashenko urged them to be bolder, more active, and be proud of their homeland and multiply its achievements.
The main gift for the guests of the event was a play "The Kidnappers of Time, or How to Save New Year". Children received New Year gifts from the President, and in return, the young guests prepared hand-made souvenirs. On behalf of all the children of the country, they presented Alexander Lukashenko with a panel picture and an art object in the form of a New Year tree and the symbol of the coming year – the Yellow Earth Dog.
