Head of State pays working visit to Mogilev region on Friday

24 мая 2013

The spring sowing campaign and the orders of the President – to provide the farms with equipment and unload stock reserves – were discussed today during the working visit to the Mogilev Region. Another issue which was discussed was milk and trade complexes.

Sergei Gusachenko reports: At the state farm “Dobrovolets” Alexander Lukashenko was reported on the process of the spring sowing campaign. In the Gomel Region the sowing of spring crops has been finished, but the Brest and Vitebsk regions are lagging behind. One of the reasons is the shortage of nitrogen fertilizers. The President makes a point of the provision of the agrarians with equipment. The farms which don’t have enough equipment and materials can supplement their park and help enterprises decrease their stock reserves. The corresponding order was given by the President to the government. At the “Dobrovolets” state farm the Head of the State became familiar with the modern precise farming system which allows increasing the crop yield by 8-9% and saving fertilizers by a quarter. The program was developed in Belarus and the investments will pay off in several years.
The President was also demonstrated a satellite navigation system, which controls the farm machinery operation. The milk sphere was discussed at the milk-trade farm “Dubrova”. The creation of holdings will allow producing more, spending less and using labor and material resources more efficiently.
The implementation of the order on the creation of milk holdings was considered using the example of the Mogilev company. It includes 16 processing enterprises and has a raw materials zone in almost every district of the region. This is 80% of all the milk of Mogilev. The capacity of the holding allows processing 1 million tons of milk annually.
The President was reported on the efficiency of the work of milk and trade complexes constructed according to the decree. There are 118 such objects. The next step in the modernization of one of the key spheres of the agroindustrial complex is the reconstruction of already existing objects: 1.200 modern complexes are to appear in Belarus. The President is satisfied with the approaches to reconstruction using wooden constructions. 100 more similar objects are to appear in the region by the end of the year. The transformation of farms into complexes in 2015 will give Belarus 10 million tons of milk and will reduce the expenses on production by almost one third. Many complexes will pay off in just 3 years. The growth of production will allow making the products cheaper which will give the opportunity to compete with suppliers from Europe and New Zealand. Today Belarus is one of the leading 5 countries in the export of milk products.
Alexander Lukashenko also made a point of the necessity to reach a high production culture both in farming and cattle breeding, which is directly associated with the quality, volume and competitive ability of the manufactured products.
