President of Belarus makes personnel decisions

New heads of diplomatic missions, of the regional vertical and of the ministerial cabinet have been appointed today. Alexander Lukashenko expects from the leaders of regions a fundamentally new approach to successfully overcome the current challenges.

Heads of diplomatic missions in Vietnam, Cambodia, Ukraine, Brazil, Germany, Ethiopia and Uganda have been appointed with their main aim being the development of relationships with the countries and regions.

In particular, the Head of State appointed heads of Bereza, Lelchitsy, Loev, Dyatlov, Masty, Volozhin and Stariye Dorogi district executive committees.

These personnel decisions are not just a formality. President is interested in the affairs of each region. After all, the economy of the whole country depends on local leaders.

The new heads of regions are either economists or farmers. These are certainly the priority areas in their future work.

The economy was the main topic at the meeting with those who will join the personnel register of the Foreign Ministry. In fact, heads of diplomatic missions are the Belarusian economy ministers in the partner countries.

Yuri Lazarchik will go to Iran, his colleague Andrei Popkov will work in Korea. Former deputy foreign minister Alexander Mikhnevich is now Belarusian Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg. Igor Leschenya will head the Belarusian Embassy in Slovakia.

Vladimir Goshin is new ambassador of Belarus in Vietnam. Vietnam is a strategic partner of Belarus in South-East Asia. This country is to become a springboard for Belarusian trade throughout the region.

Igor Sokol will move from Minsk to Kiev as Ambassador. The new head of the diplomatic mission in Brazil is Alexander Tserkovsky. He will actively develop relations with the leading country in Latin America.

The President has also appointed new rectors of Belarusian universities. Vitebsk Technological University will be headed by Andrey Kuznetsov. The new rector of Gomel State University is Sergei Hahomov.

Six more people received today new posts. Natalia Zhukova is now Deputy Minister of Health. The same post in the Ministry of Information will be occupied by Vladimir Riabovolov and Yuri Chebotar is now Deputy Minister of Economy. The new deputy chairman of the military-industrial committee is Gennady Smolski. Head of the Department of Tourism in the Ministry of Sports is now Elena Perminova. New Consul General in Munich is now Andrei Kulazhenko. Director of the joint-stock company AGAT is Mikhail Demchenko. Belfarmatsiya will be headed by Vyacheslav Gnitiy. The new leader of the administration of the Brest Regional Executive Committee is Yuri Narkevitch
