Head of state has supports Government's proposal on financing road sector.

Today Alexander Lukashenko met with the Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Kalinin, Transport and Communications Minister Anatoly Sivak and First Deputy Finance Minister Vladimir Amarin. The President stressed that the recent appeal and importance of Belarus as a transit corridor has significantly increased. The head of state demanded to accelerate the modernization of major transport corridors, in particular, the second Minsk ring road.

At the meeting with the President, it was decided to allocate additional 300 billion rubles for the construction of the second ring road. Another 52 billion rubles will be spent on the construction of the route bypassing Ostrovets. In November road builders will complete the road part Zhlobin-Gomel. After that, the work will begin on a segment Zhlobin-Bobruisk.
Reconstruction of highway M6 - from Minsk to Grodno - will be financed by the World Bank. The sum of 250 million dollars has already been agreed upon.
