Belarusian-Azerbaijani relations are in the spotlight today at the Palace of Independence. In a week, the Azerbaijani leader will visit Minsk. The details of the visit were discussed with the Head of State.

The President of Belarus noted at a meeting with the Azerbaijani ambassador to Minsk, that the countries have no closed topics. Trade issues and humanitarian cooperation are discussed at a high level. Presidents support each other on the world stage. Alexander Lukashenko touched upon the topic of the CSTO summit in Astana last week. The Head of State did not hide his surprise as to why the issue of the change of the Secretary General caused such a heated discussion. After all, the main issue at the summit was the question of the foreign policy situation around the CSTO countries. The decision on the new head of the organization will be taken at the upcoming meeting in St. Petersburg on December 6.

Belarus and Azerbaijan managed to overcome the decline in mutual trade. So, in the first nine months of this year, trade has tripled and exceeded $ 331 million. Strengthening cooperation is facilitated by friendly relations at the level of heads of state and exchange of visits at the highest level. The Azerbaijani ambassador considers it symbolic that Ilham Aliyev will visit Minsk in the year of the 25th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the countries.

During the meeting with Alexander Lukashenko, the diplomat stressed that the Azerbaijani people appreciate the Belarusian leader, and personal relations of the Presidents are a good example of interstate relations.
