Sport is not only the health of the nation, but also ideological work, which means that it is one of the priorities of state policy.
With such a statement, the President began a major meeting on the development of winter sports at the National Olympic Committee. Sport in our country is given a high priority. The necessary infrastructure has been created, in each region there are ice arenas, several routes have been built, which are used for ski races in winter and by ski-rollers in summer. The state allocates significant funds for the preparation of national teams. During 4 years, 10 and a half million dollars went to finance the winter species. At the same time the past Olympic Games in Korea brought Belarus only 3 medals. This is a consequence of problems in the sports industry.
Despite the unprecedented conditions created for training, hockey players did not get to the Olympics, depressing are the results of our men's biathlon, speed skating. Alexander Lukashenko emphasized these problems.
