By Sergei Gusachenko: The summits' agenda was considered in detail by the Belarusian President and CIS Executive Committee Chairman Sergei Lebedev. The upcoming Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting was also discussed by Alexander Lukashenko and Heads of the Development Bank and Presidential Administration.
According to Sergei Lebedev, Belarus demonstrates a high level of readiness to conduct the summits. The agenda includes 14 issues for consideration. 2014 CIS cultural capitals are also expected to be announced. It has been proposed to grant this status to Almaty, Kazakhstan and Osh, Kyrgyzstan. This year's CIS cultural capital is Mogilev, Belarus.
The summits were preceded by the President's press conference given to the CIS media.
As part of this year's CIS presidency, Belarus has proposed a list of initiatives relating to such important areas as civil rights, environment protection, and the70th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War.
CIS foreign ministers will arrive in Minsk tomorrow to take part in the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers on Thursday.
