The corresponding statement was made by Alexander Lukashenko on the occasion of departure of Cuban ambassador, who ended his diplomatic mission to our country. Mr. Gerardo Suarez Alvarez actively promoted the dialogue between our countries. About 30 documents were signed in the field of education, economy, healthcare, military and technical cooperation

The countries successfully implement agreements, for example, on mutual supplies. Under this agreement, Cuba exports medicines to Belarus, and Belarus exports to Cuba agricultural machinery. The countries plan to facilitate scientific and technical cooperation and implement several joint projects in the field of bio-technologies and medicine. The Head of State thanked Gerardo Suarez Alvarez for his contribution to the development of bilateral relations and announced his possible visit to Cuba.

This year, Belarus and Cuba celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. There are no problems in the political relations of Minsk and Havana.

The President of Belarus visited Cuba three times. Raul Castro and Alexander Lukashenko met in September 2015 at the UN summit in New York. Then they agreed to deepen cooperation in all areas. After that meeting, the commodity turnover almost doubled. Belarus almost tripled its exports to this country.

The delegation of our country will take part in the international exhibition FIHAV, which starts in Cuba on October 30. The fair in Havana is considered the third most important in Latin America and will gather 75 countries. The Belarusians will demonstrate agricultural machinery, road and quarry equipment.
