Belarus considers Vietnam its most important partner in South East Asia

Alexander Lukashenko noted that Belarus, as well as Vietnam, is conducting socially-oriented policies aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens. The positions of the two countries on most issues on the international agenda are absolutely identical. Truong Tan Sang, President of Vietnam: "Belarus has continued its path of development. I firmly believe that the Belarusian people will achieve new successes in socio-economic development that will help to improve people's lives and improve the position of Belarus in Europe and in the international arena ".

And today, in the presence of the two presidents, Belarus and Vietnam have signed a program of cooperation in the economic, scientific, educational and cultural spheres for 2016 - 2018. Following the talks, Alexander Lukashenko and Truong Tan Sang made a joint statement on strengthening and comprehensive development of relations between the countries. In particular, Belarus suggests Vietnam to intensify cooperation in the petrochemical industry and its participation in exploration and mining. But the main task is to bring the trade turnover between the countries up to half a billion dollars.

According to Alexander Lukashenko, Belarus regards Vietnam as a base in Southeast Asia, which will promote cooperation with other countries in the region.

The program of the visit Alexander Lukashenko to Vietnam is full of meetings. Belarusian President also held talks with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

The Head of State laid a wreath at the Monument of Fallen Heroes. This is a national memorial in honor of soldiers-heroes who gave their lives for the independence of Vietnam in all armed conflicts. Alexander Lukashenko laid a wreath at Mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh, the first President of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

And today the head of the state went to Ashgabat, where he will stay until December 12. Alexander Lukashenko will hold talks with President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and sign a number of international documents.
