Belarus to remain committed to integration processes, but with clear adherence to its interests

Such a statement was made by President Alexander Lukashenko at his meeting with the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Stanislav Zas. Minsk is a pragmatic ally for all participants in the Organization and intends to fulfill its obligations, including those in the military sphere.

Among the programmes relevant to the CSTO for this year, special attention is paid to combating drug trafficking. A new draft anti-drug strategy for the next 5 years is being developed. There are also plans for the 7th joint exercise, including the "Unbreakable Brotherhood 2020" to be held in Belarus. The heads of state of the Collective Security Treaty Organization will soon have to identify the countries that can obtain partner and observer status with CSTO. At the initiative of our country, it was decided to legally formalize these statuses in the military-political bloc.
