Bringing cooperation to a fundamentally new level was the key task of Alexander Lukashenko’s September official visit to India. As a result, nearly two dozen of important documents were signed, these are long term contracts and business projects for tens and hundreds of millions of dollars. Agreements to localize the production of Belarusian machine building giants – Gomselmash, MTZ and MAZ - have been reached as well as agreements to increase production of medicines in Belarus using Indian technologies and projects in the mining sphere, transport, textile industry and tourism.

Last year, Belarus exported goods for more than $300 million to India. It was growth of 13% up to the level of 2016. The basis was formed by potash fertilizers, chemical and special purpose products. There is interest in expanding cooperation in many fields of work: from agriculture, pharmaceutics, engineering, power economy to IT sphere. New trade opportunities promise the creation of India and EAEC free zone. In January, the first stage of negotiations for the agreement was held.
