Belarus and Vietnam are on the way to establishing a strategic partnership, which follows from the joint statement of Presidents Alexander Lukashenko and Tran Dai Quang on the development of the partnership relations between the two countries. Following the official talks in the Palace of Independence, the parties signed a document.
It reaffirms the policy of development and strengthening of traditionally friendly ties between Belarus and Vietnam, since the two countries share common approaches to the key global and regional problems and a re willing to cooperate closely within the framework of international organizations. The parties expressed their satisfaction with the constructive character and dynamical progressive development of the Belarusian-Vietnamese cooperation.
Tran Dai Quang, the President of Vietnam:
"Vietnam and Belarus have traditionally friendly relations, and there is a huge potential for development of cooperation in many spheres. I want to express the desire and determination of the leadership and people of Vietnam to strengthen the effective cooperation with Belarus in the interests of both parties."
Specific projects were discussed at today's talks in a broader format with the participation of representatives of the specialized departments of the two countries. In particular, the Presidents approved the creation of the Belarusian-Vietnamese joint venture MAZ Asia. The venture will provide assembly of Belarusian freight auto equipment in Vietnam.
The implementation of cooperative projects will allow localization of Belarusian products in Vietnam, which in turn will make it possible to export the equipment to the member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. The parties intend to develop and expand cooperation in transport machine building, agriculture, petrochemistry, light industry, IT and banking technologies, as well as electronics.
The leaders of the two countries signed 10 international documents. Tran Dai Quang also invited Alexander Lukashenko to visit Vietnam. The invitation was received with gratitude. The exact terms of the visit will be agreed on in the future. Following the tradition, the leaders of the two countries planted a tree in an avenue near the Palace of Independence.
At the moment, the Belarusian-Vietnamese Business Forum is being opened at the Palace of the Republic. The opening ceremony will be attended by the Presidents of the two states.
