Belarus and Slovakia ready to step up bilateral relations

Today, President Alexander Lukashenko met with the head of the parliament of this country, Andrej Danko. The parties discussed the promotion of dialogue of Belarus with the EU, the strengthening of economic partnership and the point of intersection of mutual interests. Slovakia is an important partner for us in Central Europe.

The visit of the Slovak politician is taking place against the background of positive changes in the dialogue between Belarus and the European Union. By the way, it was Bratislava that played an important role in this. And just like our country, it is interested in maintaining stability in the region.

Slovakia became independent in 1993. The separation from the Czech Republic was not easy, but the country successfully overcame the difficulties. Today it is an important partner for us in Central Europe. An active political dialogue, especially in recent years, has brought noticeable bonuses to mutual trade.

Last year, the figure exceeded 217 million dollars, there is a steady increase. The balance is still positive for our country - more than 13 million dollars.

An active supporter of socially oriented politics and unifying Slavic world, Danko managed not only to talk with colleagues - speakers of the Belarusian parliament, but also to visit the Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War. During the meeting with the President, various aspects of youth education were also discussed. In particular, they talked about reaching agreements on the mutual recognition of diplomas on education.

Mechanical engineering is one of the key areas of cooperation between Belarus and Slovakia. Activation of all other areas was discussed today at a meeting of the prime ministers of the two countries.
