Belarus ready to build extensive relations with India

Belarus is ready to build extensive relations with India, as announced by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at yesterday’s meeting with Indian President Pranab Mukherjee who is paying his first official visit to Minsk. The honoured guest was welcomed at the Palace of Independence by the Belarusian leader personally. The official welcoming ceremony was followed by narrow and extended format talks. Alexander Lukashenko invited Pranab Mukherjee to implement joint projects in mining and the oil and gas sector. Among other initiatives is the co-production of equipment to enter Southeast Asian markets.

Following the talks, the Presidents signed a package of bilateral documents, including a road map of Belarusian-Indian cooperation and memorandums in the spheres of finance, standardisation and information support, broadcasting and the consumer goods industry.
