This is the first official visit of Nicolas Maduro as the new President of Venezuela to Minsk. The countries plan to develop a new road map of the development of bilateral relations. This was stated by the President of Belarus following the results of the negotiations with his Venezuelan colleague. The meeting of the leaders took place in the Presidential Administration right after the military parade.
Venezuela plans to continue developing the agreements with Belarus. This was stated by Nicolas Maduro at the bilateral meeting. In his turn, the Belarusian leader noted that now it is easier for him to build relations with Venezuela, because a stable foundation of bilateral cooperation has already been established earlier. The negotiations of Alexander Lukashenko and Nicolas Maduro lasted for over 3 hours. Within this time the Presidents discussed the whole range of Belarusian-Venezuelan relations. Afterwards, the meeting was held in extended format, where the trade and economic cooperation was discussed in details. The main goal today is to develop the agreements reached earlier by using the existing foundation.
The intergovernmental commission will gather in Minsk in a month to develop specific proposals on the cooperation road map. The projects will be presented for consideration of the Presidents of Belarus and Venezuela.
