Serbia is an important partner of our country in the Balkans. There has been a positive trend in the trade aspect of the Belarusian-Serbian relations. However, the joint potential enables to actively increase economic performance and deepen bilateral partnership. It is planed to bring trade turnover to the level of a half-billion dollars. It is quite possible, especially taking into account the agreement on free trade zone. However, the historical Belarusian-Serbian dialogue is based not only on the political foundation, but also on the strong friendly relations, which are regularly supported by high-level visits.

The Head of State visited Serbia four times. Exactly one year ago (during the last visit), the leaders of both countries signed a joint statement. We agreed to increase the volume of trade, to expand cooperation in engineering, agriculture, transport and energy sectors.

The theme of bilateral relations was developed at the meeting of the President with the leader of the Serbian parliament.

In comparison with the year 2013 the turnover increased by almost a third. It amounted to slightly more than 245 million dollars. But this is definitely not the limit

In February 2015, the countries signed a roadmap. The document clearly identifies priority areas of cooperation, which ultimately should lead to a turnover of half a billion dollars.

However, the parties are approaching the planned figure. And not only regular contacts at the highest level contribute to this fact, but also the agreement on free trade zone that was signed in 2009.

We supply to Serbia oil products, potash fertilizers, tractors, refrigerators, washing machines. In recent years, the countries managed to implement large-scale bilateral projects.

Head of Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich invited countries to strengthen contacts between industrial enterprises. Serbia is not only a reliable partner of Belarus, but also a kind of a bridge between the Eurasian Economic Union and the EU.

More than 20 years of diplomatic relations. The lack of differences in the political sphere and bilateral cooperation. Presidents of Belarus and Serbia have repeatedly stressed: relationships are based on trust and open dialogue. Regular high-level visits give an additional impetus to trade and economic relations. Today, the official Minsk has once again confirmed the course of the Belarusian-Serbian relations: traditionally friendly relations will be strengthened in the future.
