Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko holds meeting with Director General of Swiss Company “Stadler Rail Group” Peter Spuhler

The Head of the Belarusian State highly appreciated the implementation of the investment project with partners, expressing readiness to promptly make the decision on the acceleration of its implementation. The President considers the joint project on the production of electric trains to be vital not only in terms of  growth of Belarusian export, but also in terms of the equipment of the domestic market. Alexander Lukashenko stressed that he got the construction of this plant under his personal control. Peter Spuhler stated that by December 2014 two-storey electric trains will be delivered from the Belarusian plant. In his turn the Head of the State ordered the Belarusian party to “immediately develop the project of railway service with the National Airport Minsk”.


Stadler Rail Group is one of the leading European manufacturers of trains, carriages and trams. Its production is used in Austria, Belarus, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Norway and the USA. In 2010 the Swiss company won the tender and signed the contract with the Belarusian railway on the supply of 10 electric trains for the new format of passenger transportation. All of them are already being exploited right now.
