Significant progress has been achieved in the rehabilitation of the territories affected by the Chernobyl disaster, as pointed out by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko yesterday during a working trip to the Gomel region. He visited the Polesie State Radioecological Reserve and was updated on the radiological situation in the region and environmental processes in the reserve. Alexander Lukashenko visited a horse farm and an experimental apiary located on its territory, a scientific laboratory, the reserve’s museum and, deviating from the plan of the trip, made a stop in an abandoned village. Then the Belarusian leader answered questions from journalists, one of the central topics being the Gomel region’s development. Among other issues touched upon during the conversation were salary growth and price formation. Alexander Lukashenko believes that the problem of rising prices will become irrelevant in the near future. The journalists were also interested in historical heritage and the President’s vacation plans.
