President Alexander Lukashenko hopes that the younger generation will save and multiply the achievements of modern Belarus. The President stated this on the eve of the New Year charity event for children in the Palace of the Republic.

The event brought together over 2,000 children from all over the country. These are excellent students, winners of Olympiads, and children from big families, as well as those who for various reasons have no parents. The charity event is the culmination of the Our Children campaign. Such traditions allow focusing on the problems of childhood and providing support to those who need special care. Alexander Lukashenko urged young Belarusians to study well and strive to achieve more.

The main gift for the guests of the event was a play "The Kidnappers of Time, or How to Save New Year". Children received New Year gifts from the President, and in return, the young guests prepared hand-made souvenirs. On behalf of all the children of the country, they presented Alexander Lukashenko with a panel picture and an art object in the form of a New Year tree and a symbol of the coming year – the Yellow Earth Dog.
