Alexander Lukashenko signs Decree No. 105 "On the Constitutional Commission".

The Constitutional Commission was tasked to work out proposals, to amend the Basic Law and ensure their nationwide discussion. The Constitutional Commission consists of 36 members. They are lawyers, representatives of state bodies, public associations, different branches of economy and social sphere. Young people will also present their ideas. The commission will be headed by the Chairman of the Constitutional Court, Honored Lawyer of Belarus Petr Miklashevich. 

By August 1, the Constitutional Commission will submit its proposals on amending the Constitution to the President.

By August 1, the Constitutional Commission must submit to the head of state its proposals for amending the Constitution to be further submitted to a republican referendum.
