Alexander Lukashenko does not rule out possibility of adjusting Constitution of Belarus

Without fair laws, clear and logical rules, it is impossible to develop a state in which welfare, legal and social security of citizens are in the first place. The President began a meeting with the judges of the Constitutional Court with these words. It is they who are entrusted with a special role in ensuring the supremacy of the country's basic law. It is symbolic that this conversation takes place on the day of the Constitution.

The focus of the meeting is on the results of the activities of the Constitutional Court and proposals for improving the work. The President rightly notes that the effectiveness of the judiciary system has increased in recent years.

Addressing the meeting participants, the Head of State did not rule out that eventually Belarus would come to a discussion of the possible adjustment of the Basic Law.

The conversation turned out to be very thorough. Participants of the meeting shared their views concerning not only improvement of laws, but also the prospects for the development of a multi-party system in Belarus and raising the level of legal awareness. The President expects that the judges of the Constitutional Court will also make their contribution.

The President expects proposals from the Constitutional Court to increase the effectiveness of the entire judicial system.
