An OSCE Parliamentary Assembly session to be held in Minsk next year should become an important step towards further ensuring stability and security in the European region. This opinion was expressed by Belarus’ President Alexander Lukashenko at yesterday’s meeting with Vice-President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Kent Harstedt, who is currently visiting Minsk along with colleagues. According to the Belarusian President, Belarus makes every effort to ensure regional security.
Besides, the meeting discussed issues related to the OSCE/ODIHR final report on monitoring elections in Belarus. Back in February, an expert working group was set up to review recommendations on presidential election campaign results. Some suggestions were taken into account during the parliamentary election campaign.
In the coming days, the OSCE delegation will hold a series of meetings at the Foreign Ministry, Central Election Commission and Belarus’ Parliament.
