Today, the Head of State and the former President of Ukraine discussed bilateral relations. The conversation was extremely open and sincere, and began in the winter garden of the Palace of Independence with a small tour. It is here that the Belarusian leader often talks face-to-face with distinguished guests. Afterwards, Alexander Lukashenko and Viktor Yushchenko devoted part of the conversation to revising the relations that had developed between the countries during the presidency of the politician from 2005 to 2010. The Belarusian leader stressed that at that time, despite all the differences, the countries had always found a consensus. However, time, ranks, circumstances change. Ukraine did not break with the CIS de jure, but does not show participation in the integration. The country did not send a representative to the recent summit in Dushanbe. One of the priority issues is to resolve the situation in the east of the country. Alexander Lukashenko frankly told Viktor Yushchenko about how these events influenced Belarus. At the same time, the Head of the Belarusian State says that, despite all the events, there is no bitterness and clash of opinions between our peoples.

Viktor Yushchenko notes that, in his understanding, bilateral relations with Belarus have always been ideal both at the political level and at the national level.
