The main thing that we can do is to preserve the truth and prevent a repetition of the terrible past, said President of Belarus at the opening of the major memorial in memory of the victims of Nazism during the Great Patriotic War . The ceremony is currently taking place in Trostenets. Presidents of Germany and Austria, as well as numerous foreign guests take part in the event: representatives of state and public organizations from Austria, Germany, Israel, Poland and the Czech Republic. While addressing the rally participants, Alexander Lukashenko proposed to create a global electronic book of memory of Trostenets by common efforts.

The first stage of the complex and the memorial sculpture Gates of Memory was opened at the site of the former death camp three years ago. The memorial graveyard Blagovshchina was accomplished as part of the second stage of the Trostenets Memorial Complex.
