25 сентября 2018

This was stated by President Alexander Lukashenko at the ceremony of presenting credentials, which was held today at the Palace of Independence.

12 new diplomats were sent from Russia, India, Hungary, Sudan. Some of the diplomats will represent their country's interests in Belarus concurrently - they are the ambassadors of Mexico, Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jordan, Iraq, Portugal, Saudi Arabia and Panama. Our state strives to build equal political and mutually beneficial economic relations with all partners without exception.

The work of diplomats in Belarus begins officially today after the ceremony of presenting credentials. It is from this symbolic moment that the ambassador's mission starts. Belarus is ready to further intensify cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina. Great potential is seen for building up interaction with Portugal. There are good opportunities for deepening economic contacts with Iraq and Jordan. The accumulated potential with Argentina needs a new channel. With India, prospective projects have already been identified and there are agreements at the highest level. It is time to raise the level of bilateral contacts with Hungary. It is hoped that the new ambassador of our strategic ally, Russia, will do everything to give a new impetus to relations in all spheres.

Mikhail Babich, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus: "I am the person who is determined to do everything to ensure that our relations are truly fraternal, that the cooperation in the format of the Union State would be filled with real content, so that the union would not be a virtual project, but would benefit the citizens of the two countries."

After the ceremony, a meeting was held with the new ambassadors. The President exchanged greetings with each diplomat. This is another opportunity to focus on bilateral cooperation. In turn, the diplomats extended greetings from the leaders of their countries and expressed readiness for active cooperation in various areas. For details watch Panorama today.
