Law enforcement agencies’ activities on crime prevention should be practical and efficient, as stated by the President of Belarus at yesterday’s meeting on the results of the law enforcement agencies’ activities in 2016 and law enforcement and judicial system optimisation.
The situation in ensuring public safety and protecting law and order in Belarus is generally stable and under control. Alexander Lukashenko pointed out that crime rates had fallen by half over the past 10 years and that crime detection rates were growing, and stressed the importance of preventive work in various areas.
One of the topics discussed at the meeting was law enforcement and judicial system optimisation. According to the President, the main task is to improve the quality of state management and take it to a new, modern level. Requirements for the law enforcement system will only be rising. The President considers it important to eliminate duplicated functions and formalism in the law enforcement agencies’ work.
